Biography:
David Keeling (b. 1951, Australia)
Throughout his career, David Keeling has presented serene, Romantic landscapes, purposely interjected with assemblages and abstracts of modern architecture and objects. The implication of this composition is an allusive comment regarding his concerns of human imprints on the environment. It's this social perspective towards contemporary environmental concerns along with his technical prowess that has won him the inclusion and selection into many art awards throughout his career, most recently as a finalist in the 2013 'Salon de Refuses' with his painting, Still Standing. Keeling has been featured in several literary works focused on contemporary Australian Landscape painting including a personal monograph titled, 'David Keeling: Looking Forward, Looking Back' published in 2007. Keeling's professional career started in 1987 with an exhibition at the esteemed Niagara Galleries (Vic), where he continues to show today alongside Liverpool Street Gallery (Sydney) and Bett Gallery (Tasmania). His work is held in collections nationally and internationally including the National Gallery Victoria, Artbank, Art Gallery of South Australia and several other private and public collections.
